Journey into Divination

My interest in divination began with Turkish coffee readings that my grandma would prepare for us, but my practice with it didn’t fully take root until I was introduced to Tarot cards. For most of my life, I had difficulty connecting with faith, but I found that symbolic representation through imagery was a perfect example of prophetic art. Religious texts were not something I could easily understand, but the lessons behind the stories resonated with me, as storytelling is a practice passed down through generations to teach children the realities of the world. When it came to deciphering the images, I spent countless hours searching the web, consulting with friends, and practicing my own interpretations with real-life examples.

This quest for knowledge in a newly discovered, yet deeply rooted belief allowed me to ponder the synchronicities in our lives that remind us of a higher purpose for our past, present, and future. I began to find hope in what my imagination could create, and realized that my demanding attitude was somewhat akin to ‘manifesting.’ I started examining my life through the lens of trust—trust in my actions and where they have led me, and trust that this unknown force cares for me. Life is not just about suffering but finding strength in recreation. This thrill of rediscovering how to live with a new mindset drove me to explore astrology (Western, Vedic, etc.), to learn about my birth chart and compatibility, and to read books like The Secret and Journey to the Heart.

Although my curiosity began with a tarot reading about love, the fulfillment has come from a lifelong devotion to studying the mystical energies of the world. Finally, my inner child, who always felt that people were privy to abilities beyond those displayed in social settings, has proof that magic truly exists in the world. I became trusting enough to begin my healing journey, questioning what is right for me, what or who is bad for me, what I am aligning with, and what powers or abilities I have to change my life. It was a burst of spirit to acknowledge a source of alchemy, where pain transformed into wisdom and pleasure evolved into deep love. I retaught myself that anger, sadness, emotional disregard, and isolation were simply ways I coped with a past life (in this lifetime), but they no longer define how I live. I first became aware of my shadows, then released them, replaced them, and finally began practicing new thoughts and pathways. I studied purity, vulnerability, opening up, unconditional love, letting go, and so many more themes that eventually manifested in my reality to ‘test me.’

I continue my journey with divination to enlighten my path towards healing, which I believe to be an energy source to continuously uphold. I have been exploring psychic abilities and various forms of divination, such as aeromancy (reading clouds), palmistry (reading hands), Destiny Matrix, Human Design, I Ching, numerology (through life path numbers), dream interpretation, astrocartography (location-based astrology), mediumship (spirit communication), and divination through the senses. There are truly so many forms of divination to explore, and all of them reveal a deeper truth about our existence and connections. I find that connecting through Tarot readings and rituals for purification and cleansing (using fire, musical frequencies like sound baths, streams of water, and incense) is one of my ways of building closeness with others. These practices offer insight into what is unseen but undoubtedly known.
