Midsummer Dress

This dress was inspired by the movie Midsummer, I fell in love with the floral design and the emotional upheaval upon becoming the Mayflower queen in the movie. This is a two-piece outfit set, of a corset top and a crinoline skirt. The headpiece is made from a vintage hat and cones that had been secured on top of it. I selected around 6 types of flowers and leaves to attach to the dress, first applying the leaves and then hand-placing each type of flower on a specific region. This piece took 2(1/2) weeks to create and stands as my first attempt at creating art with clothing.
